Welcome to Smith’s Butchers in Brightlingsea!

The butcher shop is located in the high street of the coastal town of Brightlingsea. It was originally opened in the 19th century and became Smiths Butchers in 2016 when it was acquired by Aiden Smith.

Aiden comes from a family of butchers and had previously worked at his grandfather’s shop in Chelmsford, helping out since he was a young teenager.

Smiths Butchers are committed to providing high quality and locally-sourced meats.
We make our own sausages & burgers, cure our own bacon, cook our own selection of pies and have recently developed a range of oven-ready meals. We also have a range of cooked meats, cheese & dairy products.

In 2020, the business was expanded to include a click & collect and local home delivery service. throughout Tendering & Colchester.
